THE LITTLE LEAF PHILOSOPHY

At Little Leaf, we believe that every child deserves the chance to grow at their own pace, with the freedom to explore and the support to thrive. Our philosophy is simple: children flourish when their curiosity is nurtured, their individuality is celebrated, and they are given the tools to build a strong foundation for learning.

We focus on creating a space where structured academics meet creativity, allowing children to discover the joy of learning while gaining the essential skills for their future education. With every question asked, every new concept explored, we help them develop not just academically but also socially and emotionally. At Little Leaf, it’s not just about preparing for the next step—it’s about fostering a love for learning that will last a lifetime.

THE ROOTS

My Journey to Little Leaf

Hello! I’m Minsi, the founder of Little Leaf Daycare, and I’m excited to share my journey with you.

I’ve been fortunate to hold executive and leadership roles at various companies, allowing me to build a fulfilling career and run my own consulting business. While I consider myself resilient, nothing compares to the delightful chaos of being a mother!

As the proud mom of a son who has more energy than an Energizer bunny on a sugar rush, along with a daughter who has more sass than I could ever muster, I’ve come to truly appreciate the challenges and importance of finding the right care for our little ones.

I’m incredibly grateful to have my mom live with us; she has been an amazing caregiver, giving so much love and patience (though I must admit, she sometimes indulges in what I affectionately call the “Asian grandma syndrome” by sneaking the kids a few too many snacks!).

Even with her full-time help, I opted to enroll my kids in daycare starting at age two to support their social and emotional development—helping them learn to interact with other kids and hopefully build confidence along the way.

So why did I start Little Leaf? Through this parenthood journey, I developed a stubborn passion for early childhood education and a strong desire to "do it better". I wanted to build a daycare that not only meets but exceeds the high expectations of parents, like my husband and I, who seek the very best for their little ones.

Starting Little Leaf was not only about my passion, but it was equally about fulfilling my mom’s wish to dedicate herself to caring for young children. My mom loves being grandma, and now that her grandkids are in elementary school, she’s loves that she can continue to spread her love to other children.

While I am incredibly enthused about early childhood education and confident in building an amazing daycare, I don’t consider myself a qualified teaching professional. As a parent, I understand how vital it is to find the right people to teach our kids (it's like finding a unicorn!). So, my role at Little Leaf isn’t to teach but to develop the program and handle everything else that matters to parents and kids. We have a fully qualified lead teacher with ample experience working with children to ensure a high-quality learning environment. But, lucky for me, I will always be around to play with our adorable little leaves!

MEET "PO PO"
婆婆

In Cantonese, "婆婆" (Po Po) means "grandma," but here, it means the queen of snacks, cuddles, and endless patience. At Little Leaf, everyone calls her Po Po, and trust us, she’s earned it! She’s been the most loving caretaker for her own grandkids and now shares that love with all the little ones. Fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin, she’s also a fantastic cook (be warned: you’ll hear about her dumplings). Po Po helps our lead teacher ensure that every child gets the best care, and honestly, she’s not just our family’s Po Po—she’s everyone’s Po Po!

We’ve created a space where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore, grow, and bloom into whoever they dream of becoming. With a strong focus on early learning, we’re all about building solid foundations—while making sure playtime is just as big a part of the journey as learning!

OUR VISION
We imagine a world where every child has the social and educational foundation to spread their wings and soar. At Little Leaf, we see each child growing into a thoughtful, creative individual, ready to embrace the world with courage, kindness, curiosity, and a lifelong love for learning. Our days are filled with both play and discovery, blending learning and fun to help children thrive.

OUR VALUES

Rooted in respect, nurtured by creativity, and guided by a belief in endless growth—our values are at the heart of everything we do. We cherish each child’s unique journey, balancing early learning with joyful play. Our goal is to help them blossom into the best version of themselves, one magical day at a time.
